NIRAS in Germany

NIRAS Germany GmbH has been supporting our clients, particularly the German Development agencies GIZ and KfW, to achieve their strategic project objectives since 1979. This +40-year track record provides us with in-depth knowledge of our clients’ policies and quality requirements.

As part of the multidisciplinary NIRAS Group, NIRAS International Consulting is a global market leader in development consulting with over 350 employees. We combine our origins in the Nordic markets with extensive experience in a wide range of both bilateral and multilateral agencies ‒ such as Swiss Development Cooperation, the UK FCDO, the World Bank Group and the Asian Development Bank ‒ in a unique portfolio that gives insight into the full spectrum of development practice. This allows us to tap into and transfer knowledge and lessons learned in the approximately 400 development projects we implement worldwide annually and develop tailor-made, unique solutions for our German clients.

NIRAS Germany GmbH provides services in all sectors of development consulting, including: education, skills and employment; peace, security and governance; agriculture and forestry; climate change and natural resource management; water and energy; and fund management. Our cross-cutting competencies include: feasibility studies; monitoring, evaluation and learning; and organisational development.   

History, location and staff

NIRAS Germany GmbH is a result of the 2012 merger of IP Consult, a firm well-established in the German market, and NIRAS International Consulting. Formerly known as NIRAS-IP Consult, today NIRAS Germany employs around 40 in-house staff, who work from a variety of locations in Germany and the world. For a full list of our offices, click here.
