IP Consult helps to design and implement effective adaptation strategies in some of the world’s most vulnerable places. It achieves this by working with stakeholders likely to be affected because while climate change is global, its impacts are inevitably local.
The fields we work in range from natural resources management, forestry, agriculture and food security to coastal zone protection, infrastructure development and flood management.
As a result, IP Consult has extensive experience in supporting both public and private institutions working with climate change adaptation.
A key area of our expertise is the development of sectorial and cross-sectorial policies, strategies and plans for climate change adaptation all the way from municipality / city level to regional and national level.
Disaster Risk Management has also been a focus of much of our work, reducing the risks of extreme weather on people, infrastructure, livelihoods and the environment through effective and innovative preventive measures. As a result of our contribution to this field, IP Consult won the RISK Award in 2012.
We are also deeply involved in climate change mitigation through our work with renewable energy and energy efficiency.

"The countries most vulnerable are least able to protect themselves. They also contribute least to the global emission of greenhouse gases. Without action they will pay a high price for the action of others"
