Training Course: Adaptation to Climate Change in Project Practice.

The purpose of this assignment is to prepare, implement and follow up two courses on the systematic integration of aspects regarding the adaptation to climate change into the project conception and implementation. The basis for this is the “Policy Guidance on Integrating Climate Change Adaptation into Development Cooperation” imposed by the OECD.

After an introduction to the topic of climate change, the Harvard Case Method is used during the training courses in order to raise the participants’ awareness of the adaptation needs and options step by step in four modules.

The target group are GIZ consultants as well as senior staff members of governmental and non-governmental organisations on national, province and town level.

  • Implementation auf the training courses in Mozambique
  • Translation of training material into Portuguese and  adaptation to the national context
  • Preparation and supervision of the co-trainers
  • Writing the final reports and summary of training material
